According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, former Georgia Bulldog DE and first overall pick Travon Walker has signed his rookie contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Walker’s contract will reportedly pay him a little more than $37 million of fully guaranteed money on a four year deal. (Adam Schefter, ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

With his contract signed, Walker can now fully set his sights on turning around a rebuilding Jaguars team that has had the first overall pick in the NFL Draft in back-to-back seasons. Walker’s draft stock rose throughout the draft process as he was able to show off his elite physical traits. Walker measures in at 6’5” and 272lbs yet was able to run an incredible 4.51 40-yard dash at the NFL scouting combine. The selection of Walker with the first overall pick was a bet on his elite athletic profile and NFL upside, as he was never an elite producer on the field in college. At Georgia, Walker functioned as a run-first base end who often played inside the tackles which limited his pass rushing upside and ultimately resulted in only 5 sacks during his last collegiate season.
