Bills head coach Sean McDermott confirmed that star quarterback Josh Allen won't play during the team's preseason opener against the Colts on Saturday afternoon. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Resting starters has become a common trend in Week 1 of the NFL preseason. With Allen not seeing snaps, the Bills will deploy veterans Case Keenum and Matt Barkley for the duration of the contest. Heading into 2022, Allen is viewed as the No. 1 quarterback in fantasy drafts.
