The Most Accurate Experts From Week 3

Week 3 was notable for having 4 players from the Jets and Raiders finish as top 25 fantasy performers (G. Smith, S. Holmes, T. Pryor, D. Moore). That’s about 4 more Jets and Raiders than we’re used to seeing do well for fantasy owners. Add in surprise showings from the likes of Jake Locker (#3 Overall), Christian Ponder (#13 Overall) &  Brian Hoyer (#23 Overall) and you can quickly see that this probably was not the easiest week to predict.

Of course, you’re counting on the experts to steer you in the right direction regardless of the circumstances. Who did that the best in week 3? Let’s take a look at the 10 highest rated experts (out of 134). As always, you can check out the entire standings in our accuracy section.

Congratulations to Jordan Tozzi (Legion Report) for earning the highest accuracy rating in week 3. Some of Tozzi’s best advice came at the RB position (#1 rank). Tozzi was particularly high on Lions’ RB, Joique Bell (his RB #6). That ranking was 7 spots above the Expert Consensus with only 5 out of 134 experts going higher for the Detroit back. Bell rewarded the faith by turning in a top 5 RB performance (132 total yards, 1 TD). Tozzi also showed some trust in Ahmad Bradshaw at a time when few expected a strong showing (matchup @ San Francisco on the heels of the Trent Richardson trade). His ranking for Bradshaw (RB #26) was only surpassed by 3 other fantasy experts. It turned out to be a wise choice as Bradshaw posted top 5 RB numbers in the Colts’ surprising victory. All told, Tozzi ranked 7 of the week’s top 10 fantasy performers as well or better than the Expert Consensus.
