Week 13 is here, and the bye weeks are making managing fantasy rosters even trickier than the usual glut of injuries and under-performers does. Week 14 is just around the corner. These are the players you should be picking up now to get ahead of your league mates.

Waiver Wire Pickups: Defenses to Stash Ahead of Week 14

New Orleans Saints – 33% Rostered

Like many positions, the waiver wire is very thin at defense, but the Saints might be worth grabbing ahead of a Week 15 divisional matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. Marshon Lattimore is trending in the right direction, and the Saints have the league’s seventh-highest sack rate (8%).

Pittsburgh Steelers – 25% Rostered

The Steelers’ defense is picking up steam. It’s a little late in the season to make an impact, but in fantasy football, we can still use that. With T.J. Watt healthy again, the Steelers terrorized Matt Ryan on “Monday Night Football” and managed three sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception. Over the coming weeks, the Steelers play the Falcons, Panthers and Raiders. They look like one of the best bets to be fantasy relevant over the next few weeks.
