Hector Neris converts ninth save Monday
by Mike Maher | Cubs Correspondent | Tue, May 22nd 9:18am EDT
One day after pitching in a low-leverage situation, Hector Neris pitched a scoreless ninth to convert his ninth save of the season.
Fantasy Impact:
Neris hadn't recorded a save in nearly two weeks before Monday, with other Phillies relievers stepping into the role as manager Gabe Kapler seems to be experimenting with a committee approach to the ninth inning. If Neris can continue to pitch well, it's possible that he reclaims the role on a full-time basis, but for now, it seems like he might be sharing saves.
