Madison Bumgarner completes first live hitter simulation

Madison Bumgarner threw his first simulated game to live batters since suffering a broken pinkie in his final spring training start. He'll make his first rehab start on Saturday, May 26. (NBC Bay Area)
Fantasy Impact:
Fantasy owners have been ready for the return of their ace and after Tuesday's simulation, it sounds as though Bumgarner is feeling confident about his path for return. He's expected to make three minor league starts with the second one coming on May 31. Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic also floated the thought that with every rough Andrew Suarez outing, Bumgarner's rehab may be shortened to two rehab starts. That would mean a June 5 return to face the Diamondbacks. If they wait the full three games, he should see his first start come on June 10 in Washington.
