Luis Severino to be shut down for two weeks with rotator cuff inflammation

by Mike Maher | Mets Correspondent | Tue, Mar 5th 4:04pm EST

Yankees starting pitcher Luis Severino is being shut down for two weeks after an MRI revealed rotator cuff inflammation. In addition to rest, he will receive an injection and anti-inflammatories before resuming his normal throwing program. (Bryan Hoch on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

The Yankees seemed optimistic about the results of Severino's MRI despite the inflammation, although this diagnosis means that he will likely miss opening day. Barring any setbacks, however, he should be good to go in early April. This news will surely cause Severino's ADP to drop over the next week or so, making him a potential bargain for fantasy owners willing to wait a week or two for him at the beginning of the season.
