Pedro Strop charged with blown save, loss Monday

by Elliott Baas | Tue, May 7th 12:15pm EDT

Pedro Strop was charged with the blown save and fell to 1-2 after allowing three runs in the Cubs' 6-5 loss to the Marlins on Monday.

Fantasy Impact:

It was a little unfortunate for Strop, because two runs scored on groundball outs after he left the game, but he still loaded the bases without recording an out, so we can only cut him so much slack. Strop now has a 5.06 ERA and two blown saves on the year, but his 60% groundball rate and 3.70 FIP suggest he has pitched better than his results. Strop is still the closer, but the Cubs could turn to Steve Cishek or Brandon Kintzler if Strop doesn't pick things up.
