Patrick Corbin left off Opening Day roster amidst COVID-19 outbreak

by Mike Maher | Nationals Correspondent | Tue, Apr 6th 12:01pm EDT

The Nationals opening day roster includes Trea Turner but does not include Josh Bell, Kyle Schwarber, Josh Harrison, Yan Gomes, Alex Avila, Patrick Corbin, Jon Lester, or Brad Hand, according to MASN's Mark Zuckerman. The Nationals are currently dealing with a COVID outbreak, and these absences are all likely related to positive tests and close contact tracing.

Fantasy Impact:

The Nationals are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak that caused them to postpone their first several games and resulted in them placing nine players on the injured list on Tuesday. We don't know who exactly has tested positive and who has merely been identified as a close contact, but the Nationals are expected to shorthanded for at least the next few days and likely longer. With Corbin and Jon Lester expected to miss at least one start, the Nationals are down two members of their starting rotatin.
