Alex Wood throws three strong innings in return

by Jon Mathisen | Giants Correspondent | Sun, Sep 19th 1:41pm EDT

LHP Alex Wood didn't factor into the decision on Saturday when he worked three scoreless innings while striking out four in the Giants' 2-0 win over the Braves.

Fantasy Impact:

Wood was making his first since August 26 after missing nearly a month on the COVID-19 list. He looked sharp in this one, holding down the powerful Braves offense over his three innings. He'll take another start or two to get stretched out before the postseason. He now owns a 3.99 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 139:39 K/BB ratio over 128 2/3 innings. He'll face the Rockies on the road in his next start.
