Padres 3B Manny Machado played hero on Tuesday, helping San Diego to a 7-4 victory. He finished 2-for-5 with two runs and the walk-off home run in the bottom of the 9th.
It appeared the Padres were cruising to their first win in almost a week until Josh Hader blew a 4-1 lead in the top of the 9th. But Machado made everyone forget that taking a Tyler Rogers offering deep for a game-winning three-run home run. The Padres offense had been silent since acquiring Juan Soto and Josh Bell. Soto hit his first home run in a Padres uniform Tuesday. Maybe this is going to get them all going.
