Dolphins really spread the ball around in preseason win versus Tampa

John Congemi (MiamiDolphins.com) writes… “Sixteen different players had a reception against Tampa Bay and some of these players are starting to separate from the pack. Veteran slot wideout Brandon Gibson looks to be healthy and gives this offense a vertical threat in the middle of the field. The same holds true for rookie Jarvis Landry. This combination inside will give opposing defense matchup problems because the can create with their route running and always give the quarterback a window to deliver the football.” (MiamiDolphins.com)

Fantasy Impact:

The first team offense managed to score three points but was harassed by the Bucs defensive line all night. Mike Wallace’s night consisted of a well set up bubble screen that was dropped, and a takeoff route that was just overthrown. In all fairness to him and Brian Hartline, it was the first game they suited up for this year and will improve with live reps. There are going to be games where the defense does not allow the deep ball to beat them, fortunately for the Phins they now have the players underneath to really eat up the soft coverage. It’s going to be beneficial to Wallace’s FF value that many of his teammates are making plays, this will force defenses to stay honest or suffer the consequences.
