Travis Kelce not expected to be ready before training camp

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told the media tight end Travis Kelce (shoulder) "probably won't be ready before [training] camp." (Terez Paylor on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Although Reid said that Kelce is not expected to be a full-go before training camp, he did say, however, that the Pro Bowl tight end could do some "light stuff" beforehand. Kelce, who underwent offseason shoulder surgery, is coming off of a 2016 season in which he produced career-best numbers in receptions (85), yards receiving (1125), YPC (13.2) and games with at least 100 yards receiving (6) -- he also accumulated four touchdowns in the effort. Because of Kelce's outstanding year in 2016, he is expected to enter the upcoming fantasy football campaign in the high-end TE1 conversation and could be one of the first tight ends selected in fantasy drafts.
