Eddie Royal signs with the Bears

Free agent wide receiver Eddie Royal signed a three-year, $15 million contract with the Bears Wednesday. The seven-year pro spent the last three years in San Diego after starting his career with Denver. Royal caught 62 passes for 778 yards and seven touchdowns in 2014. (Chicagobears.com)
Fantasy Impact:
Royal is a great add for the Bears as they needed a reliable slot receiver. With Alshon Jeffery and Marques Wilson lining up outside, Royal can find great success in a Wes Welker-like role in offensive coordinator Adam Gase's system. Royal's best receiving season was in 2008 with Jay Cutler as his quarterback in Denver. Royal had 91 catches for 980 yards that season.
