Jay Cutler 'cleared to play' in Week 8

by Anthony Cervino | Mon, Oct 24th 4:50pm EDT

ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler (thumb) has ben medically "cleared to play" in Week 8. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

It appears that Cutler has been "cleared" to return to the field just in time. The Bears lost Brian Hoyer for the remainder of the season due to a broken forearm and are in desperate need at the quarterback position as Matt Barkley failed to impress in his 2016 debut. Cue Cutler. The veteran signal call struggled prior to suffering his thumb injury, but he is a tremendous upgrade over Barkley. Cutler's return to the starting lineup should be music to the ears of fantasy owners who employ Alshon Jeffery. Jeffery was nearly invisible with the combination of Hoyer and Barkley under center and will likely see an increase in his target share upon Cutler's impending return.
