2024 Outlook
DeAndre Houston-Carson, a 6'0", 201lb safety from William & Mary, should see his draft stock on the rise after an outstanding combine performance. Despite not posting the fastest 40-yard dash at 4.53, he was noticeably smooth and quick while putting full effort into all on-field drills. Hall of Famer Deion Sanders gave rave reviews about him on NFL Network as he ran.
Fantasy Impact
Houston-Carson should hear his name called on day-two of the draft and will likely be ready to push for immediate reps at the next level. He definitely boosted his draft stock with his on-field work during the combine.
As a captain for the William & Mary football team, safety DeAndre Houston-Carson made a name for himself with scouts nationwide. Despite playing for a small school, he started all four years and was extremely productive. His first three seasons were spent at cornerback before transitioning to safety for his final season. At 6'0", 200 lbs he has the prototypical size of an NFL defensive back. He is still new to the safety position and needs to improve as a downhill force in run support. While he reads plays well, his direct lines taken to the ball carrier leave for little adjustment.
Fantasy Impact
Houston-Carson is an intriguing second day prospect who will likely make a push to start instantly for his new team. Scouts compare him to Husain Abdullah of the Kansas City Chiefs.
