Week 6 Bold Predictions (2020 Fantasy Football)

I am back again with another installment of my weekly Bold Prediction series in hopes to shed light on prospective big performances for Week 6, ultimately guiding you to win your weekly matchup, and eventually, your league.

Identifying individuals primed for potentially massive games is rewarding when you plug the player into your line up and they exceed expectations. For this week, I have categorized eight players who fit this bill and can help lead your team to victory in Week 6.

Week 6 Bold Predictions

  1. After a massive Week 1 performance, Green Bay Packers star wide receiver Davante Adams would exit his Week 2 contest with an injury and would not return until Week 6. Adams will retake his place as Aaron Rodger’s number one option with a chance to thrive once again against a banged-up Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense. I believe Adams finishes as a top-three WR this week, hauling in 10+ catches for 120+ yards and two touchdowns.
  2. The Pittsburgh Steelers JuJu Smith-Schuster looks to get back to his former self with Ben Roethlisberger back under center, however, after an impressive Week 1 performance, Smith-Schuster has been middle-of-the-pack. He has yet to reach over 70 yards receiving, something that changes in Week 6 against the Cleveland Brown when JuJu goes over 100 yards receiving for the first time in 2020.
  3. The Miami Dolphins starting tight end, Mike Gesicki, has taken the next step in his professional career, with the stats to back up his play. Gesicki leads all TEs in essentially every Air Yards category, including first in the league in total Air Yards and Air Yards/Game. He is also second in Yards/Reception and third in receiving yards among tight ends. Gesicki has a soft matchup against a struggling New York Jets defense, leading Gesicki to finish as the TE1 for Week 6.
  4. Derrick Henry is coming off back-to-back multi-touchdown games, a trend he will continue against a vulnerable Houston Texans defense. The 2019 rushing champion continues to showcase his worth to the Tennessee Titans following a massive contract extension this offseason. Henry will finish as a top-three running back in Week 6, scoring 30 or more fantasy points including 100+ yards rushing and two TDs.
  5. Zach Ertz has struggled this year to make an impact on the offense as he has done in years passed. The Philadelphia Eagles have been dealt with their issues this season, but Ertz was in a prime position to be force-fed targets but has looked like a shelf of his former all-star self. However, Ertz will rebound in Week 6 with a 15+ point performance including a touchdown, giving his fantasy manager a sigh of relief and a breath of fresh air as Ertz looks to turn his season around.
  6. Adrian Peterson, the future first-ballot Hall of Fame running back, has been solid handling the featured back duties for the Detroit Lions, but his usage has not equated to valuable fantasy points. However, that ends this week when Peterson rushes for over 100 yards for the first time all season, including a rushing touchdown against a Jacksonville Jaguars defense that could be missing some critical pieces on their defensive unit.
  7. Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has been playing at a QB1 level since Week 2, scoring 20 or more fantasy points in each game since that point. Fitzpatrick enters Week 6 poised for another great outing against a soft Jets defense. Fitzpatrick will continue his hot streak, throwing for his third-straight 300-yard game, accompanied by another three-touchdown performance.
  8. Coming off back-to-back 100-yard rushing games, Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Ronald Jones II will look to build off his impressive stretch by topping the century mark for the third time in as many games. Perhaps the Packers cede to the run as a means to stop Tom Brady and his passing attack. Jones has proven he can handle the lead back role and will look to further cement himself atop the depth chart after he posts 25 total touches for 120+ yards and a touchdown, finishing as an RB1 this week.

Conclusion

The season is still young, you are not out of it yet. Keep fighting.

Trust your process and continue to push yourself to become the most informed and intuitive fantasy manager you can become.
