FanDuel NFL Value Plays: Divisional Round (2021)

Only a couple of weeks left until there won’t be any more football. It’s always a bittersweet time. On one hand, it’s the playoffs, and some of the best teams in football go head to head, but it’s also that much closer to the offseason. Let’s take advantage of some good football this weekend! Here are my top value plays for this week…

Quarterback

Drew Brees (NO) $5,600 vs. TB
Tampa Bay’s passing defense has given up some big games this season. They just did so against quarterback Taylor Heinicke, who wasn’t even in the league a month ago. On the flip side, the Bucs defense is one of the best against the run, which should force Brees and the Saints to throw it more than they would like.

Running Back

Cam Akers (LAR) $5,700 at GB
There are only four teams worse than the Packers in points given up to running backs this season, and all four are non-playoff teams. Akers is now the clear-cut lead back for the Rams, as we’ve seen over the last part of the season and in last week’s Wildcard game. Combined that with Jared Goff’s hand injury, and Akers could be in for a huge workload.

Devin Singletary (BUF) $4,500 vs. BAL
The Ravens have a tough run defense, but with Zack Moss out for the remainder of the season, Singletary will garner the full workload. More importantly, Singletary should get all the goal-line running back carries — which used to go to Moss more often than not. There is always the chance that Josh Allen will vulture a touchdown, but, on a four-game slate, Singeltary is worth rostering at $4,500.

Wide Receiver

Gabriel Davis (BUF) $4,000 vs. BAL
Davis led the Bills in receiving touchdowns for a good portion of the season. Stefon Diggs eventually ended up leading the team, but he only had one more than Davis despite catching 92 more passes. With the Ravens’ stellar cornerbacks, Davis will have his work cut out for him, but one touchdown catch is all you need him to score at $4,000 — obviously, you’d hope for more.

Josh Reynolds (LAR) $3,200 at GB
Cooper Kupp, at minimum, will play hurt, and there is a good chance that he won’t play at all. Either way, Reynolds will be called on to step up in an offense that relies heavily on its wide receivers. The Rams didn’t throw the ball much last week because they didn’t have to, but the Packers will put up points, so they will need to pass more to keep up.

Tight End

Austin Hooper (CLE) $3,800 at KC
The Chiefs’ weakness this season has been their pass defense, particularly against tight ends. They give nearly 12 points per game to the position, the seventh-most in the league. Hooper is healthy and has played well of late with 31 total targets over his last three games.

Defense

LA Rams $2,600 at GB
DraftKings continues to disrespect this defense. They were underpriced last week against the Seahawks, and they scored 16 DK points. This week, only the Browns are cheaper. The Rams are one of the best defenses in the league, getting them at $2,600 is an easy choice.
