The Red Sox traded RHPs Jeffrey Springs and Chris Mazza to the Rays in exchange for catcher Ronaldo Hernandez and infielder Nick Sogard. (Marc Topkin on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
The two pitchers were designated for assignment by Boston in recent days. Catcher is the weakest position in their farm system, so perhaps Hernandez can make an impact at some point in the next couple of years.
