Madison Bumgarner ejected after 1st inning Wednesday

by Luke Monaldo | Wed, May 4th 1:18pm EDT

Madison Bumgarner was ejected from Wednesday afternoon's game after getting into an intense verbal altercation with umpires between the 1st and 2nd inning as reported by the Miami Herald's Al Butler. (Al Butler on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Bumgarner surrendered a leadoff home run to Jon Berti before retiring the next three Marlins in order. Mad Bum was "fiercely arguing" with umpires in front of Arizona's dugout and had to be separated by his teammates and coaches. Bumgarner finished the day giving up one run in one inning with no walks or strikeouts, throwing 7 of his 13 pitches for strikes. The lefty is scheduled to next start Tuesday against the same Marlins but given how he only threw 13 pitches, he could take the mound again sooner, possibly even Thursday.
