Smith went 16-of-30 for 181 yards with one touchdown pass and no interceptions in a 18-17 loss to the Bears. Smith also chipped in on the ground with 21 rushing yards on three carries. Smith's touchdown pass game on a screen pass to De'Anthony Thomas who took it 19 yards to the end zone.

Fantasy Impact:

With the Chiefs jumping out to a 17-3 halftime lead, they primarily turned to the running game to work the clock in the second half. When Smith did throw he was unsuccessful completing only three passes in the second half. The offense was not effective after Jamaal Charles got injured. If Charles is out for the season, their might be more emphasis on Smith and the Chiefs passing game, which could result in some weeks where Smith is worth starting in the right match up. Smith and Chiefs will face the Vikings in Minnesota in Week 6.
