Week 10 turned out to be one of the most exciting weeks of the season. We saw a few breakout performances by some young players. The dynasty landscape is transforming before our eyes, creating some vast changes in how we will be valuing some of these players in the next few months. Our goal is to be a step ahead of our league-mates when it comes to predicting the future value of some of the top players in dynasty. That way we can take advantage of the trade market and maximize the overall value of our teams.

Risers

Aaron Jones (RB – GB)
After a very efficient rookie season, Jones has struggled to get a large enough workload to make him fantasy relevant. That changed in Week 10 when he carried the ball 15 times for 145 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught three of his targets for 27 yards. His breakout game was highly anticipated by a lot of fantasy analysts considering many people were high on him going into the season.

You could make the case that his workload increased in the last two weeks and negative game scripts limited his ability to run wild against opposing defenses. Nonetheless, his 32 PPR fantasy points delivered the shot in the arm that his dynasty stock needed. It’s safe to say that the buying window has officially slammed shut. His dynasty value should only increase as the season goes on.

Rashaad Penny (RB – SEA)
We are starting to get some return on our Penny shares after he rushed for 108 yards and one touchdown against the Los Angeles Rams. After drafting him in the top of the first round of rookie drafts last spring, many dynasty owners were starting to show their frustrations with the lack of workload Penny received in the early part of the season. It took an injury to Chris Carson for him to see a large market share of the workload.

However, he took advantage of his opportunity, cashed in his chips, and is now the talk of the town in dynasty. His owners can now rest in confidence. Forget how the season started he still has the talent to be a bell-cow running back.

Going into the draft, Penny was considered one of the best running backs in a talent-laden draft class. He was drafted in the first round by the Seattle Seahawks, which was a surprise to many because he was projected to get drafted in the mid to late second-round. The draft capital that the Seahawks spent to acquire his talents generated a lot of excitement amongst dynasty owners and ultimately bumped him up to the early first-round of rookie drafts.

The transition from college to the NFL game wasn’t instant for Penny. He played behind Carson and Mike Davis and was sprinkled into the offensive game plan off and on during the first half of the season. This created a massive buying opportunity for many dynasty owners. Week 10 was his coming out party and the days of being able to buy him at a discounted price are long over.

Corey Davis (WR – TEN)
In his last three games, Davis accounted for a 28 percent target share while also seeing 179 air yards. Unfortunately, he could only turn those opportunities into just 90 receiving yards and zero touchdowns. With that being said, the workload was there; we were just waiting for him to turn it into production. Things finally started to click in Week 10 when he caught seven of his 10 targets for 125 yards and one touchdown. He made play after play, helping the offense move the chains against a tough Patriots team.

Going into November, Davis’ dynasty ADP hit a historic low at 50.5, considering he was a consensus top-30 dynasty asset going into the season. His performance in Week 10 confirms that he’s on track to being one of the top wide receivers in the league. The asking price will soon restore to its original state.

Fallers

Tom Brady (QB – NE)
It doesn’t matter if you are a goat or a jobber, Father Time catches up with everybody. For the first time, Brady looked like a 40-year-old man trying to play football against a bunch of young stud athletes. It’s obvious that he’s not one of the most graceful athletes in the league, but it appears that his physical talents are slowly starting to get away from him.

After completing just 51.2 percent of his passes against the Titans, dynasty owners are reminded that the Brady show could end at any moment. He only holds value to contending teams who are looking to make a deep run into the playoffs. He shouldn’t be rostered on any rebuilding teams. His age makes him almost worthless to half of the teams in your dynasty league. I suggest you sell as soon as possible if your team is out of contention.

Derek Carr (QB – OAK)
Carr is establishing himself as one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL. With Amari Cooper gone, he doesn’t have nearly as many weapons to throw the ball to. However, his play has proved to be a liability and is one of the main reasons why the Raiders currently have a 1-8 record.

I don’t feel comfortable having him on my dynasty roster. There’s a chance that he could get traded in the offseason to another team or gets benched for another quarterback by the end of the year. Right now, there’s a lot of instability associated with his dynasty stock, and that’s going to make him hard to own because we don’t have a good read on his long-term player value. I advise selling where you can and holding if you can’t get reasonable value in return.

Jarvis Landry (WR – CLE)
Landry caught two of his five targets for 22 yards against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. In the last three weeks, he has seen an average depth of target of 9.8 yards and has only been able to generate 24 yards after the catch. Compare this to his last four seasons where he an aDOT of 6.5 yards and was considered one of the top wide receivers in the league at creating yards after the catch. Things aren’t clicking with him in Cleveland. The offense is starting to get things rolling with Baker Mayfield under center, but Landry hasn’t been a big factor in the team’s recent success.

It’s quite apparent that the offense isn’t geared to feed Landry’s production. The offense is heating up, and Landry’s usage is cooling down. His dynasty stock will definitely plummet if he continues to be a non-factor. His dynasty ADP could drop outside of the top 50 for the first since August 2015. If you want to be ahead of the curve, then you might want to think about trading him away now before he experiences a major drop in value.
