Paul Blackburn strikes out seven in loss to Yankees Monday night

by Josh Thiessen | Athletics Correspondent | Tue, Jun 28th 10:18am EDT

Paul Blackburn pitched five innings on Monday, striking out seven, walking two, and giving up five hits for three earned runs as he took the no-decision in the A's 9-5 loss to the Yankees.

Fantasy Impact:

Blackburn has been the A's best starting pitcher this season as far as record and EAR go as he is pitching to the tune of a 3.12 ERA and a 6-3 record on the season. The A's pitcher doesn't strike out batters at a high clip like Frankie Montas though as he has just 62 punch-outs over 80 2/3 innings pitched. The 28 year old's next start will come against the Mariners on Saturday July 2nd, a game in which he can be streamed with confidence.
