Travis Kelce (KC): $12,500 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
In the two playoff games this postseason, Kelce has a 34.2% target share, eight red-zone targets, and has topped 100 receiving yards in both games. While Hill did the bulk of the damage in the first meeting between these two teams, Kelce wasn’t a slouch. He caught all eight of his targets for 82 receiving yards. During the regular season, the Bucs allowed 86 catches and nine touchdowns to tight ends.
Ultimately, however, a choice is likely going to have to be made between Hill and Kelce. Tampa Bay’s defensive scheme as of late could hint that they’re trying to limit the same type of big plays that got them burnt in the first meeting. If that’s the case, it’s also important to note that Lavonte David didn’t practice last week and has been limited this week with a hamstring injury. Over the last two seasons, David is PFF’s third-highest graded linebacker. If he’s not at 100% and trying to cover Kelce, good luck, Tampa.
Cameron Brate (TB): $7,000 vs. Kansas City Chiefs
The key to any one-game DFS contest is finding the value player. Thus far in the playoffs, Brate has been targeted six, five, and five times, respectively. He has turned those 16 targets into 11 catches for 149 yards and a touchdown. Of course, it wouldn’t be DFS without the injury watch. Brate was limited in practice this week with back discomfort. While the word is that he will still play, the more troubling news for Brate’s outlook is that Antonio Brown was a full participant in Thursday’s practice. Should Brown suit up and play, Brate’s target share likely takes a slight hit.
Ryan Succop (TB): $8,500 vs. Kansas City Chiefs
If kickers are going to be available to play on this slate, I’m going to write about at least one of them, OK?
Succop’s price is a slight deterrent given the next two players that will be mentioned. However, he’s been clutch in this postseason. He’s successfully made all eight of his field-goal attempts in the postseason and is 17-of-18 for PATs. Likely, the Buccaneers won’t be able to defeat the Chiefs by settling for field goals. However, what caught my eye is that seven of Succop’s eight field goal attempts in the postseason have been from less than 40 yards. The Buccaneers are getting into the red zone but not capitalizing all the time.
Mecole Hardman (KC) / Sammy Watkins (KC): $7,500 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Quite succinctly: If Watkins is active, he’s a very tempting play in cash games at his price. If Watkins is inactive, Hardman is a cash game lock. In the eight games this season where Watkins played at least 70% of the snaps, Hardman only topped 40% of the snaps in two of them. With both of these receivers priced only $500 more than the aforementioned Brate, it’s a great way to get exposure to the high-powered Chiefs offense and also get salary relief to jam in the elite players in this game.
Other notables: Harrison Butker (KC): $8,500 vs. TB; Chris Godwin (TB): $12,000 vs. KC; Mike Evans (TB): $11,500 vs. KC.
