Fantasy Impact: Ahmed suffered the injury during an at-bat on Thursday and was removed from the game. Casey Schmitt was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento and should see plenty of playing time at shortstop.

Fantasy Impact: Phillips is on the injured list with a right hamstring strain. He continues to progress in his rehab and he may only miss the minimum 15 days.

Fantasy Impact: The 26-year-old is currently on the injured list with an AC join sprain. Canzone is slated to play in four games with Tacoma before the team re-evaluates him.

Fantasy Impact: Musgrove continues to work his way back from right elbow inflammation. The veteran underwent an MRI and it came back clean. The Padres hope that he will be able to return after the minimum 15 days.

Fantasy Impact: Taillon felt the issue while playing catch on Tuesday, and the Cubs didn't feel comfortable with him starting on Friday. Taillon was on the IL to start the season due to back issues, but manager Craig Counsell says that this issue is not as bad as what he dealt with in Spring Training. This isn't an ideal situation for Taillon, who has enjoyed a great start to the season with a 1.13 ERA in 4 starts. More information should come this weekend, but managers should have a backup plan in place in case he can't pitch this weekend.

David Peralta has parted way with the Cubs organization and will become a free agent. (Source: Tommy Birch on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Peralta joined the Cubs on a minor-league deal this past offseason. He was not able to get fully up to speed during Spring Training, as the veteran outfielder was still recovering from forearm surgery. Peralta has spent the entire regular season with Triple-A Iowa hoping to get a shot to join the Cubs in Chicago at some point. That didn't happen, and he will now hit the free-agent market once again. Peralta put up a .689 OPS with two homers and three doubles across 85 plate appearances with Iowa this season.

Trevor Larnach is not in the Twins’ starting lineup Friday.

Fantasy Impact: Larnach’s absence is not a surprise considering the Twins are facing a left-hander on the mound. He should return to the lineup later this weekend.


Kyle Farmer is in the Twins’ starting lineup Friday.

Fantasy Impact: Farmer will draw the start at second base and hit seventh against Toronto. The 33-year-old is hitting .156 with six RBI this season.


Manuel Margot is in the Twins’ lineup Friday.

Fantasy Impact: Margot will draw the start in right field and hit fifth against Toronto. The 29-year-old is hitting .169, with one home run, and nine RBI this season.


Max Kepler is not in the starting lineup for the Twins Friday.

Fantasy Impact: Kepler will take a seat Friday with the Jays starting Yusei Kikuchi. Manuel Margot will patrol right field and hit fifth.


Edouard Julien is not in the starting lineup for the Twins Friday.

Fantasy Impact: Julien will take a seat on the bench against left-hander Yusei Kikuchi. Kyle Farmer will draw the start at second at hit seventh.

Fantasy Impact: Raley will see another doctor in the hopes of being cleared to throw. Fantasy managers should expect Raley to remain without a timetable for his return.
