Fantasy Football: Buy/Sell (Week 15)

Whether you’re buying or selling, here’s a list of players to consider making a move on before it’s too late.

Players to Buy

Michael Thomas (WR – NO)
It was kind of an explosion game for Thomas against the Falcons, as he racked up 10 receptions for 117 yards and a touchdown. We’re still waiting for that two-touchdown game to happen, and it very well can against the Jets or Falcons, as he’ll play them again in the championship week. There are just two wide receivers I’d rather have for the remaining two weeks.

Kareem Hunt (RB – KC)
He seemed to have gotten his mojo back last week, and though I’m not considering him the elite option he was to start the year, he’s an RB1. The last two games will be against the Chargers, who have struggled against the run for most of the season, and the Dolphins, who are among the league’s worst defenses in general. If there’s someone looking to ‘sell-high’ on him after Week 14, you should take advantage.

Kenyan Drake (RB – MIA)
It was frustrating to watch Drake share carries with Damien Williams, but once Williams went down with a shoulder injury, Drake was an easy buy. He’s also looked extremely good when given opportunities, as he now has 398 total yards and three touchdowns on 70 touches since the Dolphins traded Jay Ajayi. He’s also matchup-proof with how they use him in the passing game, which makes him a must-play RB2.

Derrick Henry (RB – TEN)
If you’ve been waiting for Henry’s time to shine, congrats. If not, go out there and buy him before his owner realizes what they have. This may sound crazy now, but Henry is an RB1 for the remainder of the fantasy season, as he’ll play against the 49ers and Rams to close out the year. Those are two of the three worst defenses in the league when it comes to stopping the run, making him a must-play.

Davante Adams (WR – GB)
It doesn’t really matter if Aaron Rodgers is back or isn’t. Okay, it matters. But you understand why I said that, right? He’s now totaled at least 82 yards in four of his last five games, including four touchdowns in those games. He’s a must-play right now, even though he’s got a date with Xavier Rhodes in Week 16.

Alex Collins (RB – BAL)
It’s all about schedule at this point and Collins has one of the better schedules remaining, as the Ravens will close out the fantasy season against the Browns and Colts, two teams that they should have positive game-script against. Collins has taken advantage of his opportunities this year and has separated himself from the pack. He should close out the year strong as he heads into free agency.

Chris Hogan (WR – NE)
It has felt like an eternity since Hogan’s owners have had him in their lineup, which means it’s likely that they forgot how much of an impact he had in fantasy football. Heading into Week 10 (where he was inactive), Hogan had seen just as many targets as Brandin Cooks (54), caught as many passes (33), and scored two more touchdowns (5 to 3). He’s on the borderline WR1 conversation when he’s in the lineup, though he may not come with the 150-yard, two-touchdown upside of some of the elite WR1s.

Rex Burkhead (RB – NE)
We’re starting to see the Patriots backfield for what it is, as Burkhead is mixing-in on first and second down with Dion Lewis, and also sharing third-down work with James White. He’s got his hand in the cookie jar no matter the game-script, which is great considering he plays for the NFL’s best offense. Some will be scared that he’s a Patriots running back, but Bill Belichick showed how much he liked him even after he fumbled in the Week 11 game against the Raiders. He’s a flex-play at worst every single week.

Players to Sell

DeAndre Hopkins (WR – HOU)
This may sound crazy, but Hopkins is going to play against the Jaguars this week. If you don’t know how good they’ve been this year, here’s a taste of just how dominant they’ve been… They have allowed just two wide receivers to finish inside the top-24 all year long, though one of them was Hopkins. He finished with just 55 yards in that game, but did score a touchdown. He’s not going to carry your fantasy team through to the finals this week. You aren’t giving him away, obviously, but you need to dial back expectations.

A.J. Green (WR – CIN)
Most haven’t realized, but Green has been pretty quiet over the last month and a half. His playoff schedule isn’t going to change that, either, as he’ll be covered by Xavier Rhodes and Darius Slay in Weeks 15 and 16, which is when fantasy championships are won. If you can get any of these wide receivers for him, I’d take the deal: Antonio Brown, Julio Jones, Michael Thomas, DeAndre Hopkins, Keenan Allen, Dez Bryant, or Adam Thielen.

Carlos Hyde (RB – SF)
It’s been a productive season for Hyde, but it’s time to let go. He’s about to play against two of the tougher run defenses in the league, as the 49ers will host the Titans and Jaguars to close out the season. The Titans have allowed just four rushing scores all season, and the Jaguars have been one of the league’s top run defenses since Week 7. Hyde is just a volume RB2 for the remainder of the season.

Tyreek Hill (WR – KC)
Hill is not the type of player you want your fantasy dreams to hinge upon. Sure, he can win you a week with one play, I get it. However, he’s failed to string together two double-digit games in a row all season. He’s had just five games this season where he’s topped 8.4 standard fantasy points, including five games with five or less points. He’s got a tough matchup in Week 15 against the Chargers, then a good one in Week 16 against the Dolphins, but he’s had plenty of good matchups he didn’t show up for this year.

Lamar Miller (RB – HOU)
He was hurt in Week 14 and had to leave the game for a while. Knowing that, combined with the fact that he’ll close out his season against the Jaguars and Steelers, both teams that can blow the Texans out, Miller shouldn’t be considered anything more than an RB2, and a dicey one at that.

Samaje Perine (RB – WAS)
Not that he doesn’t have value, but Perine has struggled at times this year, including in their loss to Dallas in Week 13. To know that he’s going to play against the Chargers, Cardinals, and Broncos to close out the season, you should be worried. While the Chargers weren’t good against the run to start the season, they’ve played better as of late. And then, the Broncos and Cardinals allow sub-3.5 yards per carry on the season. He’s just a volume-play down the stretch.

Robby Anderson (WR – NYJ)
Not only is he dealing with a hamstring injury that limited him in practice last week, but he’s got dates with Marshon Lattimore and Casey Hayward to close out the year, two shadow cornerbacks who have shut down opponents this year. Anderson is going to be a risky start in both games.
