DraftKings NFL Lineup Advice: Week 4 (Full Slate)

DraftKings NFL Lineup Advice: Week 4 (Full Slate)

After two great weeks to start the year, we mixed duds with gems last week. While we got fantastic performances from Nelson Agholor, Dalvin Cook, and Evan Engram, we also got disappointing games from Sony Michel and Matt Breida. That means it’s time to bounce back with some elite picks here and I absolutely love this DraftKings Week 4 slate. With that in mind, let’s talk about the breakout quarterback from Week 3.

Quarterback of the Week

Daniel Jones (NYG) $5,300 at WAS
This might be extremely chalky, but it’s going to be tough to fade Jones at this price tag. While trusting a one-game sample size is dangerous, there appeared to be something special about this kid. Throwing for 336 yards and two touchdowns in the air is extraordinary in its own right, but rushing for two touchdowns is something that Eli Manning simply couldn’t do. That’s why the Giants took this kid at sixth overall and that’s how Jones is quieting his haters.

It’s just one week, but it appears that DraftKings is slow to adjust his price. He’s actually in the same price range as guys like Derek Carr, Gardener Minshew, Mitchell Trubisky, and Marcus Mariota, which is unfair to Jones with all of those guys being lackluster fantasy options. Getting to face the Redskins is the final piece to the puzzle, as they are allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season.

Cash Game Running Back

Austin Ekeler (LAC) $8,000 at MIA
Anytime we can use a starting running back against the Dolphins, we have to consider them. The reason for that is because they allow 208 rushing yards and 31 fantasy points per game, which both rank dead last in the NFL. The main reason for that is because they’re getting blown out in every game and that caters beautifully to the opposing running back. That’s great news for a fantasy stud like Ekeler, as the San Diego running back is averaging 26.3 DK points per game. There are only three position players in fantasy who have a higher average and it’s clear that he’s the go-to guy with Melvin Gordon picking his boogers at home.

GPP Running Back

Wayne Gallman (NYG) $4,600 at WAS
Anytime we can potentially get a bell-cow running back below $5,000, we have to consider them. While we don’t really know if that’s going to happen with Gallman, we have to keep him in mind with Saquon Barkley sidelined for the next month. That should garner Gallman double-digit carries and a handful of targets, which is monstrous from a player priced so cheaply.

He’s shown flashes as the go-to back, collecting 11.3 carries and 4.8 catches per game across the final four games of 2017 en route to 83 scrimmage yards per outing. If he can do that and provide a touchdown, we’re looking at one of the best per-dollar plays of the week. Facing Washington is a good way to duplicate those numbers, with the Redskins allowing 142 rushing yards per game, the fourth-worst mark in the NFL.

Cash Game Wide Receiver

Sammy Watkins (KC) $6,700 vs. DET
It feels crazy to consider Watkins a cash game receiver, but that’s where we’re at with Tyreek Hill sidelined. In the first three games this season, Watkins not only leads the team in snaps, but he’s also one of the league leaders in targets. In fact, Watkins now has 20 catches for 311 yards and three touchdowns on 32 targets. Those 32 targets are the third-highest total in the NFL, only trailing Keenan Allen and Michael Thomas. That’s elite company and it’s just a matter of time before Watkins has another blow-up game. That could happen here against Detroit, with the Lions owning a 26th OPRK against wide receivers, according to DraftKings.

GPP Wide Receivers

Kenny Golladay (DET) $5,900 vs. KC
Golladay is coming off a dud in Week 3, but he’s way too good of a player to be sitting below $6,000. He actually scored 43 combined DK points in his first two games and it’s clear that he’s Matthew Stafford’s top wide receiver. That’s evident when you see that he’s seen at least eight targets in all three games this season while being one of the league leaders in air yards.

Facing Kansas City sounds tough, but it’s actually a perfect situation for fantasy. Playing catch-up is always good for fantasy purposes and it’s why the Chiefs allowed the second-most passing yards last season. That means the Lions should be losing, which means 40 pass attempts for Stafford and, more importantly, double-digit targets for Golladay.

Terry McLaurin (WAS) $4,500 at NYG
It’s insane that this price remains so low. This dude has done nothing but produce since Week 1 and I’d argue that he should be closer to $6,000. The production speaks for itself, with McLaurin collecting 16 catches for 257 yards and three touchdowns.

The most important factor here is that he leads the team in both targets and snaps, recording 24 targets while playing over 90 percent of the team’s snaps. That has made him the best wide receiver on this team and Case Keenum’s go-to option. All of that makes him tough to avoid at this price, but facing a Giants defense that’s allowing the most passing yards in the NFL is simply the icing on the cake.

Tight End of the Week

Will Dissly (SEA) $3,600 at ARI
After a slow Week 1, Dissly appears to be at full-go now. Playing at least 46 snaps in back-to-back games is the biggest indicator that he’s the number-one tight end, but receiving 12 combined targets in those two games tells us that he’s the number-two receiving option on this team. This is a dude that has produced throughout his career when healthy, providing 20 catches for 280 yards and five touchdowns in seven games played. That includes his first game back from injury along with the game he got injured, so that’s quite a bit of production in essentially a five-game stretch.

The best part about this play is this matchup though, with Arizona allowing the most fantasy points in the league to opposing tight ends this season. That makes Dissly the play of the day at $3,600 for the tight end position.
