5 Players I Like More Than ECR
Raheem Mostert: Mostert’s going up against an absolutely terrible Detroit Lions run defense, and he’s going to run wild in this one. He lands at RB13 in my rankings versus RB17 in ECR.
Darrell Henderson: People are not quite sure what to expect from Henderson in this offense. While the Bears’ run defense is an intimidating matchup, Henderson should see plenty of scoring opportunities here. He lands at RB22 in my rankings versus RB25 in ECR.
Cooper Kupp: The Bears’ secondary doesn’t stand a chance at slowing down Kupp and Woods this week. While Woods is a bit higher in ECR this week, Kupp is still down at WR20. Both Woods and Kupp are top-12 options in my rankings.
Corey Davis: Davis had a ridiculous target share during the pre-season, and Zach Wilson‘s going to be looking his way early and often. Jaycee Horn should draw coverage on him here in his first NFL game, and that’s a massive advantage to Davis. His ECR is 33, and he is WR23 in my rankings.
Tyler Higbee: The Bears actually allowed the 5th most fantasy points to the TE position last season, and Stafford should easily put up over 300 yards passing in this game. That means Higbee’s a solid start and he’s at TE6 in my rankings versus TE11 in ECR.
5 Players I Like Less Than ECR
Jonathan Taylor: Did you know that the Seahawks allowed the 5th fewest rushing yards per game last season? The secondary got torched through the first part of the year, but the Seattle run defense was actually very good. Taylor’s still a top-10 option for me, but just a few spots lower than his ECR of RB6.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire: What’s the workload going to be for CEH in this game? I have some questions heading into year two, so I’m a little bit more skeptical of his fantasy output than ECR this week. He lands at RB18 in my rankings versus RB15 in ECR.
Diontae Johnson: I believe we’re going to see the pass attempts come crashing down for Pittsburgh this year as they lean on Najee Harris. This is a tough matchup for opposing WRs, and Johnson gets bumped down for those reasons. He’s WR24 in ECR and WR30 in my rankings.
JuJu Smith-Schuster: I’ve been lower on Juju all off-season, so this should come as no surprise to people who listen to our podcast, etc. In a lower passing volume offense against a tough secondary, Juju will probably not see enough volume – or be efficient enough – to return value on his WR35 ECR. He’s at WR51 for me.
Noah Fant: In a game that I don’t expect Denver to need to throw all that much in, Fant’s going to have to be ultra-efficient with his limited opportunity to crack the top-12. We know he doesn’t score touchdowns regularly, so it’s hard to see how he returns value on his TE8 Expert Consensus Ranking. He lands at TE12 for me.
5 Receiver/Cornerback Matchups to Watch
Allen Robinson/Jalen Ramsey: Ramsey’s been known to shadow the top receivers for an offense, and Robinson could have a tough go at it this week. This is going to be a fun matchup to keep your eyes on during SNF.
Julio Jones/Byron Murphy: The Titans might score 50 points with this receiving duo matching up against this Cardinals secondary.
AJ Brown/Robert Alford: The Titans might score 50 points with this receiving duo matching up against this Cardinals secondary.
DJ Moore/Brandin Echols: I follow the NFL for a living, and there’s not much I can tell you about Brandin Echols…Moore’s a fantastic play this week.
Corey Davis/Jaycee Horn: Horn’s a highly touted rookie corner, but he’s going to have his hands full against Davis this week.
