WR Super Chart: Week 5 (Fantasy Football)

Oct 3, 2018

Week 4 of the 2018 NFL season is in the books and to keep you up to date, we’ve put together an all-in-one spreadsheet filled with several fantasy-relevant statistics from last week and year to date. We call it the Super Chart and its purpose is to provide you with all of the data, stats, and fantasy information you need in one place. Our Super Chart can be used to help determine your starting lineups, waiver wire pickups, trade evaluations, and much more by using various forms of stat-driven data. Tracking critical information such as backfield shares and touches, fantasy points per touch, and weekly matchups can help you identify breakout candidates by noticing trends before other managers in your league.

Before we get to the Week 5 edition of the Wide Receiver Super Chart, please take a moment to review each category and what it means. If you are already familiar with all of the terms and categories, feel free to skip ahead.

Weekly Fantasy Points/Fantasy Points Per Game (FPPG)
The first stat that we track is simple, yet important. The Super Chart is sorted by Fantasy Points Per Game, but also includes fantasy point totals from the previous week.

Weekly Targets/Weekly Target %
A closer look at the total number of targets for every fantasy-relevant receiver, as well as the total percentage of targets that player accounted for.

YTD Targets/YTD Targets %
We not only track weekly target percentages but also year-to-date targets. This will help determine consistency and potential breakout candidates.

Weekly/YTD Receptions
PPR formats have taken over the fantasy football landscape and tracking receptions is an important part of finding consistent success. There are plenty of underrated fantasy receivers that lack upside but can net you a safe eight to 10 points when you need it.

YTD Catch Rate
Year-to-date catch rate is the percentage of targets that were caught.

Next Week Opponent
This is pretty self-explanatory. It’s a look ahead to the upcoming matchup with the opposition’s rank against WRs in fantasy. The 32nd ranked fantasy defense is a favorable matchup, while the 1st ranked defense is the most difficult.

# of 100 Yard Games
Some leagues offer bonus points at 100 yards receiving, and it’s also a great way to track a receiver’s consistency.

Fantasy Points Per Target
Lastly, fantasy points per target can help you identify explosive players who can put up big numbers with more opportunity.

The Super Chart is packed with so much information that we can only fit so much into the article. To view the Super Chart in its entirety, please click here.

Quick Hits

  • Despite scoring just 8.7 points in Week 4, Michael Thomas is still number one at the WR position in FPPG with 25.1. He also leads all receivers with a 95 percent catch rate.
  • Adam Thielen is the only WR in the league to start the 2018 season with four consecutive 100-yard games. Can he add another to it in Week 5 against the 29th ranked Eagles pass defense?
  • Calvin Ridley continues to dominate, as he ranks first in fantasy points per target (min. 10 targets) with 3.58. He is also tied for 12th in fantasy points per game, despite just 23 targets this season.
  • There are just six receivers with a 30 percent or higher target share through the first four weeks of the season: Julio Jones, Jarvis Landry, Corey Davis, DeAndre Hopkins, Adam Thielen, and Odell Beckham.
  • Tyler Boyd continues his hot streak, leading all WRs with a 37 percent target share in Week 4. This improves his YTD target share to 23 percent. He is currently posting WR2 numbers for fantasy owners.
