FanDuel NFL Cash Game Lineup Advice: Week 15

FanDuel NFL Cash Game Lineup Advice: Week 15

For those who are no longer alive in season-long fantasy football leagues, my condolences. Also, welcome to the DFS party! Unfortunately, with two games on Saturday, our player pool in the Sunday main slate isn’t as stocked, but we still have plenty of options.

That being said, here’s a list of players who are already considered “out” for Week 15: DeSean Jackson, Kerryon Johnson, Odell Beckham Jr., Colt McCoy, Jordan Reed, and Rashaad Penny.

These write-ups are posted every Saturday before the final injury report comes out. If news comes out prior to kickoff, look for updated advice and suggestions on my Twitter page, @CharlieSideHstl.

Quarterbacks

Tom Brady (NE): $7,900 @ PIT
With Patrick Mahomes playing on Thursday and Drew Brees scheduled to play on Monday, the QB player pool for Sunday’s main slate is rather thin this week. Plus, other top tier quarterbacks, like Aaron Rodgers, have some tough matchups in Week 15. Enter Mr. Brady. He’s the seventh-most expensive QB in the main slate and he’s facing a Pittsburgh secondary that has allowed two passing touchdowns in each of the past three games. As for Brady, he’s compiled at least 300 passing yards in back-to-back games and has thrown for at least two TDs in two of the past three contests. His Patriots are also implied to score the highest total on the slate (28 projected points).

Other notables:

Lamar Jackson (BAL): $7,700 vs. TB
Dak Prescott (DAL): $7,300 @ IND
Derek Carr (OAK): $6,800 @ CIN

Running Backs

Saquon Barkley (NYG): $9,400 vs. TEN
He’s the most expensive skill position player by $600 (Julio Jones and Ezekiel Elliott are tied for second), but he’s worth it. Barkley has produced at least 27 FD points in three of the past four games. He’s scored six touchdowns in the past four games (four rushing and two receiving) and Barkley has tallied over 100 rushing yards in four consecutive games. Last week, without Odell Beckham Jr., Barkley set a new career-high with 170 rushing yards (12.1 yards per carry). He even caught four passes for 27 yards. On the downside, the Titans have a solid defense. They’ve only allowed one opposing running back to rush for over 100 yards this season (Lamar Miller in Week 12).

Stevan Ridley (PIT): $4,900 vs. NE
Obviously, if James Conner is cleared to start on Sunday, then I’d look elsewhere (see “other notables”). However, if Conner is sidelined, again, then turn to Ridley as your second DFS running back on Sunday. Ridley has already expressed his feelings towards the Patriots organization and was unhappy about how they treated him during his injured 2014 season with New England. So, a player with extra motivation is always a bonus in DFS. Plus, Ridley found the end zone last week for his first TD of the season.

Other notables:

Chris Carson (SEA): $6,300 @ SF
Kenneth Dixon (BAL): $5,700 vs. TB
Ito Smith (ATL): $5,300 vs. ARI

Wide Receivers

Josh Gordon (NE): $6,800 @ PIT
I already have Brady as my FD quarterback. So, let’s pair him with one of his dangerous weapons. In his career, Gordon has faced the Steelers six times. During those games, Gordon averages 91.7 receiving yards per contest and has scored twice. Also, in the past three weeks, Pittsburgh has allowed three receiving touchdowns to opposing wide receivers. Gordon has tallied at least 70 receiving yards in four of the past five contests.

Amari Cooper (DAL): $6,600 @ IND
Cooper has been crushing it lately. He’s produced at least 34 FD points in two of the past three games for Dallas. During his time with Dallas, Cooper has been targeted at least eight times in five of six contests and he’s averaging one TD per game. The Colts have allowed four receiving touchdowns to opposing WRs in the last five weeks, too.

Taylor Gabriel (CHI): $5,100 vs. GB
The Bears have been battling injuries on their offense all year at their receiving corps, but Gabriel has held strong throughout the season. He’s notched at least seven targets in four straight games and has caught seven passes in two of the last four contests. With Allen Robinson questionable for Sunday’s matchup against the Packers, look for Gabriel to potentially get a boost in targets for Week 15.

Other notables

Dante Pettis (SF): $5,500 vs. SEA
Chris Godwin (TB): $5,400 @ BAL
Jordy Nelson (OAK): $5,000 @ CIN

Tight Ends

George Kittle (SF): $7,400 vs. SEA
Before Week 15, only one tight end was receiving at least nine targets consistently over the course of their last four games. That man is Kittle. Last week, Denver forgot to cover Kittle and he torched them to the tune of 210 receiving yards on seven receptions. On December 2nd, Kittle caught six balls for 70 yards on nine targets against the Seahawks. He’ll see them, again, this week.

Other notables:

Cameron Brate (TB): $5,400 @ BAL
Evan Engram (NYG): $5,200 vs. TEN
Anthony Firkser (TEN): $5,100 @ NYG

Defense

Jaguars (JAC): $4,800 vs. WSH
Yes, they’ve lost eight of their last nine games, including an embarrassing performance on Thursday night against the Titans. However, they won’t be defeated by Josh Johnson, right? He’s making his first NFL start since 2011 and was about to play for the San Diego Fleet of the Alliance of American Football (not that there’s anything wrong with that). Washington is projected to score a slate-low 14.25 points on Sunday and I’m taking the Jags on this one.

Other notables

Bills (BUF): $4,200 vs. DET
Falcons (ATL): $4,000 vs. ARI
Vikings (MIN): $3,900 vs. MIA
