Kyle Yates’ Last-Minute Week 5 Cheat Sheet (2020 Fantasy Football)

Kyle Yates’ Last-Minute Week 5 Cheat Sheet (2020 Fantasy Football)

It’s time to make decisions on your starting lineup this week! Do you feel confident?

If you’re anything like me, you might be looking at your lineup and switching the same players in and out of your lineup because you can’t decide which one to start. Hopefully the information below can help make that decision a little bit easier for you!

Here are some last-minute quick-hit items designed to help you live your best fantasy life in Week 5:

5 Players I Like More Than ECR

Joe Mixon: While Mixon certainly has a tough matchup in front of him this week, he sees enough guaranteed volume to be viewed as a locked-and-loaded RB1. You can start him with confidence and lean into his workload through both the air and on the ground.

Joshua Kelley: When doing my projections, it was very difficult to not give Kelley a significant workload in this game. While Justin Jackson should be a factor, there’s still plenty of work for Kelley to be viewed as a solid low-end RB2.

DeVante Parker: Parker is simply seeing too many targets for me to not buy in this week. The Dolphins are going to need to throw in this one and Parker could easily see 10+ targets yet again.

Justin Jefferson: While the experts are high on Jefferson this week, I’m willing to go all in and start him as a high-end WR2 in this matchup. As long as this game goes the way Vegas predicts it will, Jefferson could easily return that value.

Sammy Watkins: Watkins is consistently seeing enough targets week in and week out to be considered for fantasy football. However, this matchup is extremely enticing due to the lack of CB depth for Las Vegas. I have him as a solid WR3 this week in my rankings.

5 Players I Like Less Than ECR

Miles Sanders: While Sanders has the talent to be a top-12 RB for fantasy this season, this offense is simply atrocious right now. This limits Sanders’ ceiling and he has a tough matchup against Pittsburgh this week. He can be started as a low-end RB2.

Cooper Kupp: Kupp can easily pull away from a defender and take a pass to the house, but I don’t believe that the Rams are going to need to throw a ton in this matchup. If that’s the case, it’s hard to see how Kupp has the ceiling to finish as a top-12 option.

T.Y. Hilton: At this point, I’ve just given up on trying to understand why ECR is still in love with Hilton. He doesn’t belong in your starting lineup as anything more than a low-end WR4.

Tyler Higbee: Very similar to Kupp, it’s hard to envision LA throwing the ball a ton in this matchup. With the limited target share that Higbee has had recently, he needs a touchdown to finish as a top-8 option, which is where he’s being ranked this week.

Evan Engram: Engram certainly has a path to significant targets in this fine matchup, but this offense hasn’t shown any signs of being competent this season. With that, plus the fact that Engram hasn’t looked great on tape, it’s hard to see how he finishes as a top-10 option.

5 Receiver/Cornerback Matchups to Watch

Tee Higgins/Marcus Peters: Higgins has been playing great recently, but he gets a tough matchup here against Peters. Peters can lock down opposing receivers, but if Higgins can prevail in this matchup, he should be viewed as a solid WR2 moving forward.

Laviska Shenault/Vernon Hargreaves: Hargreaves hasn’t exactly been stellar so far this season and Shenault could be in line for a big game.

Cooper Kupp/Jimmy Moreland: Moreland’s the slot corner for Washington, but he’s struggled this season. With Kupp lining up across from him, it’s possible that we see Kupp roast him on more than one occasion.

Diontae Johnson/Darius Slay: Johnson has taken over as the target leader in this offense, but Slay is one of the best corners in the game. Does Johnson have the talent to produce even in this tough matchup?

Terry McLaurin/Jalen Ramsey: Ramsey is likely to shadow McLaurin in this game, which should be an extremely exciting matchup to watch.

5 Important Things I Learned This Week

Joshua Kelley is going to see work: There’s simply just too many vacated targets/rush attempts in this offense for Kelley not to be viewed as a solid RB2.

Calvin Ridley is very good: Despite putting up zero points in week four, Ridley is still the WR1 in all of fantasy football.

Amari Cooper is on pace for 200 targets: With Dak throwing the ball as much as he is this season, Cooper’s on a historic pace.

Stefon Diggs has been dominant: With Josh Allen playing fantastic football, Diggs has produced enough to be the WR6 in all of fantasy football through four weeks.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire is in line for a big game: CEH hasn’t scored a touchdown since week one, but he’s still the RB13 in all of fantasy football. He now gets a matchup against the Raiders this week that is surrendering 30.3 fantasy points on average to opposing RBs.

5 Bold Predictions For Week x

Robby Anderson will finish as a top-12 WR.

Kirk Cousins will finish as a top-5 QB.

Mike Davis will finish as a top-5 RB.

Daniel Jones will finish outside the top-24 at the QB position.

Tyler Higbee will finish outside the top-15 at the TE position.
