Here’s a look at 10 team DRAFT lineup advice for Week 9 Sunday Only NFL contests. As a reminder, this contest doesn’t include the Thursday game, Sunday night game or the Monday night game. I provide my rankings per position, a summary of each position and I conclude the article with a sample draft to give you a sense of how to approach your DRAFT contests.

Through the first three weeks Kirk Cousins totaled 502 passing yards on 63 attempts, with three touchdowns and two interceptions. This was an average of 167 passing yards and 21 attempts per game. In the last five weeks he has averaged 298.8 passing yards, 30.4 attempts, 2.0 touchdowns and 0.2 interceptions. This week Cousins gets the Chiefs in what could be a high scoring affair. There is always the chance that Minnesota rides Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison on the ground, but if the Vikings were watching the Packers last week, using the running backs in the passing game should be a big part of the game plan. The Chiefs are giving up the third-most receiving yards per game to running backs and the second-most yards per reception. The main reason I am featuring Cousins here, is because he can be taken in the fifth round in most drafts. In drafts where you wait on quarterback, Cousins is an excellent pick.

18. LeSean McCoy | KC | vs MIN | 5 |
19. Mark Walton | MIA | vs NYJ | 5 |
20. Devin Singletary | BUF | vs WAS | 5 |
Dalvin Cook is quickly establishing himself in the top tier of running backs. He is averaging a ridiculous 5.27 yards per carry on 19.5 carries per game and is also seeing over four targets per game. He is also averaging over a touchdown per game. Kansas City has been shredded by running backs this year both on the ground and through the air. The chiefs are allowing 4.94 yards per carry which is tied for worst in the league. See the quarterback section for what they have allowed through the air to running backs. Dalvin Cook is my number one overall pick with McCaffrey seeing a much tougher matchup in Tennessee.
Wide Receiver/Tight End
Player | Team | Opponent | Round |
1. Kenny Golladay | DET | @OAK | 1 |
2. Tyler Lockett | SEA | vs TB | 1 |
3. Chris Godwin | TB | @SEA | 1 |
4. Mike Evans | TB | @SEA | 1 |
5. Stefon Diggs | MIN | @KC | 2 |

9. Darren Waller | OAK | vs DET | 3 |
10. JuJu Smith-Schuster | PIT | vs IND | 3 |
11. Marvin Jones | DET | @OAK | 3 |
12. Mike Williams | LAC | vs GB | 3 |
13. Odell Beckham Jr. | CLE | @DEN | 3 |
14. Travis Kelce | KC | vs MIN | 4 |
15. T.Y. Hilton | IND | @PIT | 4 |
16. Tyrell Williams | OAK | vs DET | 4 |
17. John Brown | BUF | vs WAS | 4 |
18. Keenan Allen | LAC | vs GB | 5 |
19. Alshon Jeffery | PHI | vs CHI | 5 |
20. Hunter Henry | LAC | vs GB | 5 |
Kenny Golladay is showing all of the signs of being a star receiver in this league. He showed excellent body control catching a ball thrown behind him while on the run against the Giants. When looking at players with at least 20 targets on the season, Kenny Golladay ranks second to Mike Evans in air yards per game. He is being targeted downfield and he is also being targeted in the red zone. Golladay has seen nine targets in the red zone which ranks as the 10th most on the season. Of those nine targets, eight of them were from inside the 10-yard line. This is tied with Travis Kelce for the most in the league. With Kerryon Johnson now out, and none of the running backs looking great last week against a team they should have been able to run on, the passing game should see a major boost in volume. The Lions get another good matchup this week against the Raiders. They have given up the second-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks and the fifth most to wide receivers. It may feel strange now, but you will become more and more comfortable taking Kenny Golladay very early in drafts.
Sample Draft
My pick: 2nd
1st round – Dalvin Cook (RB – MIN)
See the running back section for analysis of Dalvin Cook.
2nd round – Kenny Golladay (WR – DET)
See the wide receiver section for analysis on Kenny Golladay.
3rd round – Allen Robinson (WR – CHI)
Allen Robinson has looked like a stud wide receiver this year. The only problem has been the quarterback play in Chicago. This week the Bears face off against the Eagles, who have allowed the most fantasy points per game to wide receivers.
4th round – Kirk Cousins (QB – MIN)
Rarely do I get my three featured players in a draft. See the quarterback section for analysis of Kirk Cousins.
5th round – Jamaal Williams (RB – GB)
The Chargers have given up the eighth-most scrimmage yards to running backs on the season. Both Jamaal Williams and Aaron Jones have been heavily involved on the ground and through the air.
