Russell Wilson: Wilson looks like he’ll be back in the starting lineup this week. He’s a borderline QB1/2. Wilson has been a QB1 only once this season and top-15 only three times. Stating that Wilson has been dreadful isn’t shocking anyone. He’s 31st in PFF passing grade, 33rd in adjusted completion rate, and 18th in big-time throw rate (minimum 50 dropbacks). The Jaguars have been more pliable since Week 5 through the air, though. Over the last three weeks, they are 21st in passing yards per game, 27th in EPA per drop back, and 20th in explosive pass rate.

D’Onta Foreman: Foreman now jumps into high-end RB2 territory with the Hubbard news. Looking at the above small sample numbers, Foreman has continued to run like a person on a mission. Last year Foreman was 15th in yards after contact per attempt, 12th in breakaway rate, and 19th in PFF elusive rating (minimum 100 carries). Foreman played 54% of the snaps last week with 17 touches and 145 total yards as the RB17. Foreman will be the 1A in the backfield, with Raheem Blackshear possibly seeing some passing down work. Foreman may get workhorse usage in this game, though. If that happens, he can smash Atlanta. The Falcons have the second-highest rush success rate allowed while also sitting at 29th and 22nd in adjusted line yards and second-level yards. They have given up the fifth-fewest rushing yards per game as they have faced the sixth-fewest rushing attempts per game. Teams have been happy to pass all game, but the Panthers look like they are deploying the Bears model. Run, Run, Run, and then maybe pass the ball. The Panthers’ run blocking has been among the best in the league, ranking 11th in adjusted line yards and seventh in open field yards.

Tony PollardPollard is coming off the first game of the season in which he out-snapped Elliott (60% vs. 49%). Thank you, Dallas. I know it won’t last, but let’s take a second to soak in this moment. This beautiful moment. Ok, back to reality. Pollard is lightning in a bottle ranking second in yards after contact per attempt, 11th in breakaway rate, 23rd in PFF’s elusive rating, and 11th in yards per route run. Since Week 2, he’s averaged 11.7 touches and 76.4 total yards. He’s the RB36 in fantasy points per game, with five top-30 scoring weeks in his last six games. Pollard is an RB2 with a beautiful matchup if Zeke plays. If Zeke is out, Pollard is a high-end RB1. Chicago is 29th in rushing yards per game, 18th in EPA per rush, and 27th in explosive run rate. The Bears have yielded the sixth-most fantasy points per game to running backs.

Ezekiel ElliottElliott is the RB25 in fantasy points per game, but he should be considered nothing more than a touchdown-dependent RB3 moving forward. He’s averaged 16.5 touches and 67.9 total yards this season while relying on touchdowns (four total, eighth-most). He saved his day last week with two scores, but his role is slowly starting to dry up. Over the last three games, he has drawn only one target through the air, and finally, in Week 7, the route run rate flipped in Pollard’s direction. Elliott is 50th in yards per touch, 43rd in juke rate, and 54th in yards created per touch. I would love to say the juicy matchup with the Bears’ run defense vaults him into RB2 territory, but outside of his two luck-boxed touchdowns in Week 7, he face-planted against the Lions’ hapless run defense with 3.8 yards per carry. Zeke is dealing with a knee sprain and has been listed as doubtful. I don’t think Elliott plays this week.

D’Andre Swift: Swift isn’t listed with an injury designation after practicing in full all week. The last time we saw him close to full health was Week 1, where he played 65% of the snaps with 18 touches and 175 total yards as the RB3 for the week. Swift is first in yards after contact per attempt, fourth in breakaway run rate, and 16th in PFF’s elusive rating (minimum 15 carries). The Dolphins are a tough draw for Swift, ranking eighth in rushing yards per game, fifth in EPA per rush, and tenth in explosive run rate. The good thing for Swift is that his ceiling and best asset isn’t his rushing ability but his pass-game role. This is where Swift can eat the Dolphins alive. Miami is 28th in DVOA against running backs in the passing game, allowing the ninth-most receptions, fourth-most receiving yards, and third-highest yards per reception. Swift is a strong RB1.

Jamaal WilliamsIn Week 1, Williams played 32% of the snaps with 12 touches, 30 total yards, and two touchdowns. His red zone role, which dwarfed Swift’s, is notable, but Williams will take a backseat this week. With the rushing matchup looking brutal, Williams isn’t efficient enough to overcome it. He’s 48th in juke rate, 56th in yards created per touch and 40th in evaded tackles. He’s a touchdown-dependent RB3 who has seen the seventh-most red zone touches.

Amon-Ra St. Brown: St. Brown should be good to go this week. Head coach Dan Campbell stated St. Brown didn’t have a concussion but was ruled out due to ataxia. In Weeks 1-3 before the injury, St. Brown was 16th in PFF receiving grade, tenth in yards per route run, and 13th in YAC per reception (minimum ten targets). St. Brown will remind people this week that he’s a WR1. In the first three games of the season, St. Brown commanded a 30.8% target share (sixth-best), seeing 11 targets per game (seventh-best). St. Brown will run about 66% of his routes from the slot against Justin Bethel (career: 58.1% catch rate, 94.8 passer rating).

Darrel Williams: Williams has been named a game-time decision. With Benjamin playing well last week, I lean that he sits. Even if Williams is active, he shouldn’t be in your lineup.

Eno BenjaminAfter beginning the season as a run defense to target, the Vikings have tightened up. Overall, Minnesota is 14th in rushing yards per game, 12th in EPA per rush, and 18th in explosive run rate allowed. Since Week 3, they have been top-eight in each of these categories. Minnesota is 12th in second-level yards and third in open-field yards allowed. The Vikings are a pass funnel. In Week 7, Benjamin played 73% of the snaps with 16 touches and 113 total yards while splitting the red zone work with Ingram. Benjamin has been explosive with his touches this season, ranking 18th in yards created per touch, 17th in juke rate, 23rd in yards per route run, and 11th in breakaway run rate. Benjamin is a low-end RB2.

Keaontay IngramIngram played 30% of the snaps in Week 7 with 11 touches and 37 total yards (one touchdown). With his heavy red zone usage, Ingram is an RB4 who could be an RB3 if he falls into the end zone.

Davante AdamsAdams remains a weekly WR1. He’s the WR6 in fantasy points per game with a 32.0% target share (fourth) and 28.4% target per route run rate (15th). Adams is 13th in deep targets and second in red zone targets. He ranks seventh in PFF receiving grade and 13th in yards per route run (minimum 15 targets). The Saints remain zone-based in the coverage, with at least 55% of their corner snaps last week coming in zone coverage. Adams has seen 63.8% of his target volume against zone, ranking eighth in PFF receiving grade and 11th in yards per route run against zone (minimum five targets). With Marshon Lattimore ruled out, Adams will run about 70% of his routes against rookie Alontae Taylor (16.7% catch rate, 39.6 passer rating, six targets) and possibly backup safety Bryce Thompson (zero targets, five coverage snaps). Watch the Saturday and Sunday news for Adams who is dealing with a rough bout of the flu. He was DNP all week before a limited session on Friday and a questionable tag.

Hunter RenfrowRenfrow has become an afterthought in this offense. Over his last two games played, he has a 13.2% target share despite 1.9 yards per route run. He’s only seen a 68.9% route run rate over that two-game sample. Renfrow hasn’t drawn a red zone target since Week 2. He’s a low-floor WR4/5.

Darren WallerWaller has been listed as questionable after limited practices all week. In the three games Waller has played a full-time role this season, he’s been underwhelming as the TE9, TE29, and TE29. He handled a 15.7% with an 83.3% route run rate and 1.14 yards per route run. He averaged only 5.7 targets, 3.3 receptions, and 41.7 receiving yards per game. Waller is a low-end TE1 if he plays. New Orleans is first in DVOA against tight ends limiting them to the second-lowest catch rate, ninth-lowest yards per reception, and zero touchdowns.

Foster MoreauIf Waller is out, Moreau will be the full-time tight end, but there are better streamers than Moreau. The Saints have been an elite unit at defending the tight end for multiple seasons. Moreau would be a TE2.

Chris OlaveOlave has been a mega-producer and arguably the best rookie wide receiver in the NFL when he’s been active. In his full games played, he’s seen a 27.4% target share with 42.6% of the team’s air yards. He has stacked a 77.9 PFF receiving grade and 2.38 yards per route run in those weeks. This season, those would rank 15th and 11th-best among wide receivers (minimum 15 targets). Olave leads the NFL in deep targets, and now he faces a pass defense ranked 26th in DVOA against deep passing. Olave is a WR2 that will run about 74% of his routes against Rock Ya-Sin (47.8% catch rate, 66.4 passer rating) and Anthony Averett (80% catch rate, 158.3 passer rating).

Michael ThomasThomas has been ruled out.

Jarvis LandryLandry has been ruled out.

Juwan JohnsonJuwan Johnson, my king. Last week he turned his five targets into 32 receiving yards and two scores. Since Week 6, he’s played at least 76% of the snaps with an 11.1% target share and 76.5% route run rate. He ranks 11th in deep targets and tenth in red zone targets among tight ends. Johnson is a decent TE2 and streaming option this week against a Raiders defense that ranks 16th in DVOA against tight ends with the 14th-most receiving yards per game allowed. Johnson has been listed as questionable with a hamstring issue. He logged limited practices on Thursday and Friday putting him in line to play.

Garrett WilsonWith Zach Wilson back under center, Garrett Wilson has seen his season go into the dumpster. Since Week 4, he has a 21.1% target share which has netted him five targets and 25 receiving yards per game (4.7 aDOT). With only short-area targets incoming and a low-volume passing offense, Garrett Wilson doesn’t see the volume to be productive in fantasy. He also hasn’t drawn a red zone target since Week 3. Wilson will run about 53% of his routes against Myles Bryant (71.4% catch rate, 101.3 passer rating) as a WR5/6.

Elijah MooreMoore should return to the lineup this week as a full-time player. In Weeks 1-5, he saw a meager 14.5% target share with an 86.8% route run rate and 1.03 yards per route run. Moore will run about 75% of his routes against a mix of Jonathon Jones (52.6% catch rate, 78.6 passer rating), Jack Jones (48% catch rate, 37.6 passer rating), and Jalen Mills (62.5% catch rate, 84.0 passer rating). Moore is a WR6 that is better left on the waiver wire or your bench.

Philly has been rough on opposing tight ends ranking 11th in DVOA, holding them to the seventh-lowest catch rate and tenth-lowest yards per reception. Ryan Tannehill: Tannehill is dealing with an illness and ankle injury. He logged DNPs on Wednesday and Friday. He could miss this game, leaving Malik Willis in line to make the start. Tannehill isn’t worth considering as a risky QB2 if he starts against a secondary that’s allowed the second-lowest passing touchdown rate and ranks 17th in success rate per dropback.

Malik Willis: If Tannehill is out, Willis is on the QB2 radar with massive upside based on his rushing ability alone. In the preseason, among 67 quarterbacks with at least 25 dropbacks, Willis was 56th in PFF passing grade and 54th in adjusted completion rate. However, he carried the ball four times for 159 rushing yards with seven missed tackles forced. With the state of Houston’s run defense, Willis could rush for 100 yards or at least enough to make his passing numbers icing on the cake.

Brandin CooksCooks is slowing down, but the matchup this week gives him another chance to turn back the clock. Cooks has a 23.3% target share with 26.8% of the team’s air yards. He has two games this year as a WR2 or better. With Nico Collins likely out this week, Cooks and the next wide receiver I’ll discuss could absorb the downfield looks. Cooks is second on the team with five deep targets. He’s secured three with a 143.8 passer rating. Cooks could be shadowed by Kristian Fulton, who followed Michael Pittman on 56% of his routes last week, limiting him to three targets, one reception, and four receiving yards. Cooks has been listed as questionable (wrist). He practiced in full all week, so he’ll play. The Texans are having fun with their designations this week. Cooks is a WR3.

Phillip DorsettDorsett is a high-upside flex wild card this week, especially if Fulton shadows Cooks. Dorsett is third on the team in deep targets securing both with a 158.3 passer rating. Going back to 2019, when he saw his last substantial usage in the NFL, 30% of his target volume was deep. He had a 111.1 passer rating when targeted deep, with three receiving touchdowns. Dorsett will run most of his routes against Terrance Mitchell (65% catch rate, 112.5 passer rating) if Fulton follows Cooks.

Nico CollinsCollins has been listed as questionable despite not practicing all week. I doubt Collins plays this week.

Terry McLaurinDespite Jaire Alexander shadowing McLaurin on 69% of his routes, he saw his highest target share (25%) and second-highest target total of the season. McLaurin could be primed for another shadow matchup with week against Stephon Gilmore. Gilmore has shadowed twice this year following Brandin Cooks and Courtland Sutton on 57-84% of their routes, limiting them to four receptions (11 targets) and 33 receiving yards (zero touchdowns). McLaurin is 43rd in PFF receiving grade and 52nd in yards per route run this season (minimum 15 targets) with a 17.4% target share. If Heinicke will force him the ball weekly, McLaurin is a WR3.

Curtis SamuelSamuel also saw a 25% target share from Heinicke last week, finishing as the WR25 in fantasy. It was Samuel’s highest fantasy finish since Week 2. Overall this season, he has a 22.5% target share, with eight red zone targets (16th) running about 69% of his routes from the slot. Samuel will see Kenny Moore in coverage for most of the day. Since Week 4, Moore has picked up his level of play, allowing only a 54.5% catch rate and 65.7 passer rating. Samuel is a WR3/4.

Jahan Dotson: Dotson has been ruled out.

Logan ThomasThomas has been listed as questionable after limited practices all week. Thomas will be on the TE2/streamer radar if he’s back this week. Thomas has a 12.0% target share and 68% route participation mark this season. He’s seen three deep and red zone targets in his four games played. Indy has been a good matchup for tight ends, ranking 25th in DVOA, allowing the ninth-highest catch rate, tenth-highest yards per reception, and the fifth-most touchdowns.

Sam EhlingerThe Sam Ehlinger experiment has left the station. Ehlinger offers intrigue this week as a QB2. In the preseason, he was third in PFF passing grade, first in yards per attempt, and first in adjusted completion rate (minimum 25 dropbacks). Yes, it was the preseason, but these numbers at least offer hope. Over the last two years in the preseason, he’s rushed eight times for 126 yards (7.4 per carry) with a rushing score. Ehlinger takes on a Commanders’ pass defense, starting to hit its stride behind a stout pass rush. Since Week 4, Washington is 19th in pass defense DVOA, but they have held opponents to the fifth-fewest passing yards per game, 11th-lowest EPA per dropback, and 14th in explosive pass rate. Washington is also sixth in pressure rate. In the preseason (only 13 dropbacks), Ehlinger had a 149.3 passer rating with 13.2 yards per attempt and three passing touchdowns. Ehlinger could spark this offense with his willingness to chuck it deep and his mobility.

Deebo SamuelWith Garoppolo under center, Samuel has a 24% target share (eight targets per game) with a 20.2% air yard share. He’s been a top-36 wideout in three of five games. Overall he’s the WR19 in fantasy points per game. Since Week 3, Samuel has been 22nd in PFF receiving grade and 22nd in yards per route run with eight red zone targets (16th). Samuel will run about 63% of his routes . Samuel is a WR2.

Brandon AiyukSince Week 3, Aiyuk has had a 22.2% target share with 26.3% of the team’s air yards. Over the five weeks, he’s fifth in PFF receiving grade and 36th in yards per route run (minimum 15 targets). He’s seen 11 targets in back-to-back games as the WR4 and WR18 in fantasy. Aiyuk has five deep targets and seven red zone targets (21st) this season. He’ll run about 74% of his routes on the perimeter against Jalen Ramsey (63.6% catch rate, 107.0 passer rating) and Derion Kendrick (61.3% catch rate, 98.1 passer rating) as a WR2. Expect Garoppolo to lean on Aiyuk and McCaffrey more with Samuel out.

Darrell HendersonHenderson opened the week missing practice dealing with an illness. He looks good to go this week, though. In Week 6, returning to the starting gig, he played 71% of the snaps with 14 touches and 52 total yards. Behind a struggling Rams offensive line, Henderson is 46th in juke rate, 30th in yards created per touch, and 33rd in breakaway run rate. He faces a 49er run defense that’s permitted the sixth-lowest rush success rate, second-fewest rushing yards per game, and is first in explosive run rate. Henderson is an RB3.

Van JeffersonJefferson could make his season debut this week, but his routes could be limited. Stash Jefferson if you’re hurting at WR, but don’t look to start him in Week 8.

Darius SlaytonSince Week 5, Slayton has a 20% target share averaging 51.7 receiving yards per game. With his route run rate sitting at 68.7% over this three-game stretch, he’s more volatile than he appears. His 72.4 PFF receiving grade and 2.18 yards per route run since Week 5 are both strong. Despite finishing as a top 24 wide receiver in two of his last three games, he’s better viewed as a WR4/5 this week with his route rate and tough corner matchups. He’ll run about 71% of his routes against Tariq Woolen (56.3% catch rate, 49.7 passer rating) and Michael Jackson (56.7% catch rate, 84.7 passer rating).

Wan’Dale RobinsonRobinson became a full-time player last week. He handled a 27.6% target share, 28% target per route run rate, and 80.6% route run rate. He finished with eight targets, six grabs, and 50 receiving yards as the WR35. He’ll run about 80% of his routes against the corner to target Coby Bryant (65.5% catch rate, 112.0 passer rating). Robinson is a WR3/4 with a bump in PPR formats.

Tyler LockettLockett is a low-end WR2 this week. Lockett is the WR24 in fantasy points per game, seeing a 25.4% target share (18th) and 35.5% air-yard share (13th). His best asset is his usage as a downfield weapon (11 deep targets, eighth), as he has only seen four red zone targets. He’ll run about 54% of his routes on the perimeter. He could be shadowed by Adoree Jackson (52.9% catch rate, 85.5 passer rating). Jackson has shadowed three times this season following Robert WoodsRobbie Anderson, and CeeDee Lamb on 65-91% of their routes. Jackson only gave up eight targets, six receptions, and 57 receiving yards (one touchdown). Jackson has been the LCB predominantly, and Lockett will run about 46% of his routes against Jackson if they don’t move him around more. Jackson has 32 snaps this season in the slot, so he could follow Lockett inside some if they try to hide him in the slot. Lockett has been deemed a game-time call after being limited twice this week in practice (hamstring/ribs).

D.K. MetcalfMetcalf is a game-time decision that I don’t expect to play this week. Metcalf didn’t practice on Wednesday and Thursday before sneaking in a limited session on Friday. Metcalf is the WR36 in fantasy points per game this season with a 24.9% target share and 34.4% air yard share. He’s a staple in the deep passing game (13th in deep targets) and red zone (seventh in red zone targets). If he does suit up, he’s a risky WR2/3 that could be limited.

Marquise Goodwin: Last week, filling in as the starting receiver opposite (84% perimeter) Lockett after D.K. Metcalf left the game, Goodwin saw a 19.2% target share with a 73.3% route run rate (3.05 yards per route run). In a limited capacity as the slot wideout, Goodwin has a 1.26 yards per route run this season. He’s drawn only three deep targets, and two red zone looks this season. If Jackson follows Lockett, Goodwin will see Fabian Moreau (57.1% catch rate, 91.5 passer rating) for most of the day. Moreau has played well this season, but he’s been burnable for most of his career (239 career targets, 67.4% catch rate, 104.8 passer rating). Goodwin is a WR4.

Allen LazardLazard has been ruled out (shoulder).

Romeo DoubsAll of the preseason and camp hype for Doubs is a distant memory. He’s the WR61 and has struggled for most of the season. He’s 46th in contested catch rate, 16th in drops (three), and 42nd in QBR when targeted. Doubs is 91st in PFF receiving grade and 76th in yards per route run (minimum 15 targets). Doubs will run about 80% of his routes against Dane Jackson (60.0% catch rate, 59.4 passer rating) and Kaiir Elam (76.9% catch rate, 79.0 passer rating). Doubs is a WR4.

Sammy WatkinsWatkins returned last week with a 12.1% target share, but his route run rate was only at 44.1%. Watkins isn’t worth playing, considering he could be limited and the tough matchup.

Christian Watson: Watson has been listed as questionable (hamstring). Watson is a must-sit even if he is active.

Ja’Marr Chase: Chase is now expected to be out for the next 4-6 weeks with a hip injury. Sadness.

Tee Higgins: With Chase hitting the injury shelf, Higgins now steps into the alpha role for the Bengals.  In the five games Higgins has been a full-time player, he has a 22.7% target share and 30.4% air yard share. In his five healthy games, he has a 77.0 PFF receiving grade and 2.24 yards per route run mark. This season, among all wide receivers with 15 or more targets, those numbers would rank 17th in PFF receiving grade and 14th in yards per route run. Higgins is a WR1 that will run about 77% of his routes against Emerson and Williams.

Tyler Boyd: After last week’s 155-yard explosion, Boyd is the WR25 in fantasy points per game. He’s only finished as a top-30 fantasy wide receiver in three of seven games. Before the Chase news, he was best seen as a WR3 with explosive upside in any game that Burrow goes nuclear, but now Boyd is a weekly WR2. Boyd has a 14.2% target share (65th), six deep targets (35th), and three red zone targets (55th). He’ll run about 83% of his routes against Greg Newsome (65.5% catch rate, 99.2 passer rating).
