Over the offseason, I’ve shared my personal thoughts on each player from a season-long standpoint, but I’ve never released my best-ball rankings. That is, until now. With a lot of our readers/listeners signing up for DRAFT, we thought it’d be helpful for you to have a template to work with. It’s important to know that you don’t have to follow this player-for-player, but rather know which players should be taken in which range at their position.
When playing best-ball on DRAFT, keep in mind that it’s 0.5 PPR (points per reception) with these starting requirements: 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 W/R/T. In the 18-round draft, you’ll ideally want to wind up with 2-3 quarterbacks, 5-6 running backs, 6-7 wide receivers, and 2-3 tight ends. We’ll be going by position, because overall rankings don’t really work in this format. You need to remain fluid in your draft, not missing a complete tier at a position. Typically, though, you should have at least 2-3 running backs and 3-4 wide receivers by the end of the eighth round. You should also attempt to lock up two of your quarterbacks by the end of the 12th round, or you might be stuck with Cody Kessler as your No. 2 quarterback.
